As the clock strikes midnight and we’ve sung the final note of "Auld Lang Syne," the new year unfolds before us like a blank canvas. The hope and promise of what’s ahead fills us with excitement. The thought that things can get better, and the belief that we have the power to make it so intoxicating, doesn't it?
But let’s be honest, for most of us, around January 17th or 18th that thrill is gone. Whether we consciously quit or unintentionally drift back into old habits, many of us default to what feels familiar and comfortable. So, the question becomes, how do we disrupt the cycle? How do we make 2025 the year that sticks?
Before you dive headfirst into resolutions, ask yourself a few questions to disrupt the default:
Are you really ready to make a change? Change is hard. It requires discomfort, discipline, and determination. Are you prepared to embrace the messy, sometimes painful process of transformation?
Do you truly believe your goal can happen for you? Self-doubt is a silent dream killer. If you don’t believe in your ability to achieve your goals, they’ll remain out of reach. Practice visualizing your success and affirming your worth daily.
Are your goals specific? A vague “I want to get healthier” won’t guide you when things get tough. “I want to exercise three times a week for 30 minutes and drink 64 ounces of water daily” gives you a clear roadmap.
Do you really want this, or is it for someone else? It’s easy to get swept up in goals that look good on paper but don’t resonate with our souls. Be honest: is this your dream, or someone else’s expectation?
This year let’s move beyond fleeting motivation. Let’s commit to purposeful action and mindful living. Imagine the possibilities, the opportunities you’ll seize, the challenges you’ll conquer, and the person you’ll become. Why not? You are an essential thread in the fabric that holds this world together. What you do matters—your dreams, your voice, your contributions.
So, what’s next for you? What’s the bold, audacious move you’ll make this year? Maybe it’s finally starting that business, writing that book, or saying yes to something you’ve been afraid of. Or perhaps it’s the quiet work of healing, learning to rest, or building deeper connections.
Here’s to a year of not just dreaming but doing, make it your year of intention. A year where we don’t let the fire fade but stoke it daily. A year where we take steps, however small, toward the life we’ve imagined.
What’s next for me? To continue building, growing, and creating spaces that inspire and uplift. To connect with you and encourage you to shine brighter than ever before. What will you make happen in this next chapter? This is a question only you can answer. But let me remind you, you have everything it takes to make this your best year yet. Happy New Year Shero Sippers, today is the first day of the best of your life!
